  3. what I mean by a medium.

  5. Every medium or technology creates a service 
  6. environment. Thus the motor car creates 
  7. super-highways, suburbs, gas stations, etc. It is 
  8. this environment of service and disservice which I 
  9. call medium. Since this environment of services is 
  10. a kind of ‚Äútext,‚Äù it has its own peculiar syntax and 
  11. grammar. It is this medium which invades and 
  12. reshapes every aspect of the social and psychic 
  13. life of the users of the technology, regardless of
